Nellie Lingard

The Consummate Assistant

Nellie Lingard married Thomas William Driver in 1885, and would have been well aware of his Magical leanings. In fact, she was performing with Kudarz before they were married.

On 25 May 1885, Nellie debuted as 'Miss Haidee - the mystic trance medium, clairvoyant, and psychometrast'. Remarkably for a magicians assistant at this time, she received a short review: "Mdlle. Haidee was tied up in a sack, but managed to effect her escape in a short space of time. She also gave a thought-reading exhibition with considerable success.".

Nellie's proficiency in the art of escape and her exposé of spiritualism brought another level to the Driver's performances. 'Professor Robert Kudarz - the Wizard of the World' was now a quality double act.
